- Learn the directions for each section prior to the test. Understanding the directions will allow you to move on to the questions. This will give you more time on each question.
- When you are answering questions cross out the wrong answers. This will give you fewer choices to look at and allow you to focus on the correct answer.
- If you do not know an answer move on. The ACT is timed and you must no linger on questions that you cannot answer. If you look at a question and glance at the answers and still have no clue you must move on to the next question.
- Know how the ACT is scored. Read how the ACT is scored on the website. Understanding this part of the test will allow to develop a strategy.
- Finish the test. You do not know how many people do not finish the test. Stay on track and on schedule.
- Bring a watch to the ACT. You cannot rely on a working clock in the room.
